What information we collect and why we collect it.
How we use that information.
The choices we offer, including how to access and update information.
1. Information we collect
We collect information to provide better services to our users and improve our business.
We collect information that can identify you such as your name and email address ("personal information") and other information that does not identify you in two ways:
Information you give us or information provided through Facebook or LinkedIn. The Room Ring is a roommate matching service that requires you to Facebook or LinkedIn authenticate when signing up. We have access to information you directly provide, such as your name, email addresses, contact information, and information about your residence, occupation, alma mater, interests, current city, photos, personal description, friend or connection list, and information about and photos of your Facebook friends who might be common Facebook friends with other Service users and other demographic information and preferences, and we also have access to information you have provided to Facebook or LinkedIn, including your Facebook or LinkedIn privacy settings.
Information we get from your use of our Service. We may collect information about the services that you use and how you use them, like when you visit different parts of our site and what selections you make about the type of residence you would like to live in, or the type of roommate you would like to live with. We use various technologies to collect information from your device and about your activities on our Service. We may also automatically collect certain technical information such as:
Device information-- We automatically collect information from your browser or device when you visit our Service. This information could include your IP address, device ID and type, your browser type and language, unique device identifiers, the operating system used by your device, access times, your mobile device’s geographic location while our application is actively running, the referring website address and mobile information if you use a mobile device to access the site.
Log information--When you use our Service or view content on the Service, we may automatically collect and store certain information in server logs. This information may include:
details of how you used our service, such as your navigation paths and search queries;
mobile related information if you access our website using your mobile device;
internet protocol address;
device event information such as crashes, system activity, hardware settings, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and referral URL;
Browser type, operating system, and other technical information
Cookies and Use of Cookie Data. When you visit our Service, we may assign your device one or more cookies to facilitate access to our Service and to personalize your experience. Through the use of a cookie, we also may automatically collect information about your activity on our Service, such as the pages you visit, the time and date of your visits and the links you click. If we advertise, we (or third parties) may use certain data collected on our Service to show you Tinder advertisements on other sites or applications.
Other Technologies. We may use standard Internet technology, such as web beacons and other similar technologies, to track your use of our Service and to deliver or communicate with cookies. We also may include web beacons in advertisements or email messages to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. The information we obtain in this manner enables us to customize the services we offer users, to deliver targeted advertisements and to measure the overall effectiveness of our online advertising, content, programming or other activities.
Information collected by third-parties for advertising purposes. We may allow service providers, advertising companies and ad networks, and other third parties to display advertisements on our Service. These companies may use tracking technologies, such as cookies or web beacons, to collect information about users who view or interact with their advertisements. We do not provide any non-anonymized personal information to third parties. Some of these third- party advertising companies may be advertising networks that are members of the Network Advertising Initiative, which offers a single location to opt out of ad targeting from member companies (www.networkadvertising.org). Opting out will not decrease the number of advertisements you see.
We may collect this information through a website or a mobile application. By using the Service, you are authorizing us to gather, parse and retain data related to the provision of the Service.
2. How we use information we collect
In General, we use information that we collect about you to:
deliver and improve our products and services, and manage our business;
manage your account and provide you with customer support;
perform research and analysis about your use of, or interest in, our or others’ products, services, or content;
communicate with you by email, postal mail, telephone and/or mobile devices about products or services that may be of interest to you either from us or other third parties;
develop, display, and track content and advertising tailored to your interests on our Service and other sites, including providing our advertisements to you when you visit other sites;
website or mobile application analytics;
verify your eligibility and deliver prizes in connection with contests and sweepstakes;
perform functions or services as otherwise described to you at the time of collection.
The profile information you create, including the use of optional photographs, will be searchable by other users. All profile information members provide is displayed only to registered users of the Service. First names are used when a user is “matched” with another user that fits their search criteria, and when a user requests to add another user to their “ring” (a personal network of users that are “matched” based on search criteria). First names and email addresses are both used when a user invites a friend via email to join the service, and when we send notifications to a user related to their use of the service. Except when members invite friends, their email address is not shared or displayed with people within or outside of their “ring”. Users within a “ring” communicate on The Room Ring with each other through the Service without disclosing their email addresses.
We use aggregated and demographic information to support our advertising needs so we can continue to provide many services for free. Your personally identifiable information is never disclosed to these parties, unless you are notified or consent.
If we provide you with any mailings or other communication, you can always opt out of that communication through your account settings, but that may result in you being unable to use certain features of our Service.
You may also set your browser to block all cookies, including cookies associated with our Service, or to indicate when a cookie is being set by us. However, it’s important to remember that our Service may not function properly if your cookies are disabled.
You have the right to remove your personal information from our databases. To do this, please delete your account through your account settings. If you have any problems or questions, please let us know by contacting us at email@example.com and we will assist you with the process.

5. Do Not Track Signals
Some web browsers have settings that include “do not track signals.” Our Service is not currently engineered to respond to those signals from browsers.
6. Information we share

Other users will be able to view information you have provided to us directly or through Facebook or LinkedIn, such as information you have in common with the person viewing your profile, such as common Facebook friends or LinkedIn connections. If you elect to do so, you will be able to chat with certain users of the Service, e.g., when you have a “match.” If you chat with your match, of course your match will see the content of your chat.

We also may share aggregated, non-personal information, or personal information in hashed, non-human readable form, with third parties, including advisors, advertisers and investors, for the purpose of conducting general business analysis or other business purposes. For example, we may engage a data provider who may collect web log data from you (including IP address and information about your browser or operating system), or place or recognize a unique cookie on your browser to enable you to receive customized ads or content. The cookies may reflect de-identified demographic or other data linked to data you voluntarily have submitted to us (such as your email address), that we may share with a data provider solely in hashed, non-human readable form. To opt-out of cookies that may be set by third party data or advertising partners, please go to http:// www.aboutads.info/choices/.
