2BR with spare room — pair-up welcome
I'm Hannah. I work in public health research at Harvard, and I live in a quiet two-bedroom off Massachusetts Avenue, about a ten-minute walk from Harvard Square. The second bedroom is opening up.
I'm open to two paths: you move into this apartment, or we look for a new two-bedroom together if that ends up being a better fit for both of us.
The apartment
It's a classic Cambridge two-bedroom with hardwood floors, good light, and a kitchen that supports actual cooking. The living room fits a couch and a table. The bedrooms are separate enough that work calls do not automatically broadcast through the whole apartment.
Laundry is in the building. Street parking is sometimes possible, but a lot of people bike because Mass Ave and Harvard Square are genuinely walkable.
How I live
I'm in my late twenties. Weeknights are usually quiet, and I'm usually in bed around 11. I run on weekends when the weather is decent, and I cook a few nights a week.
I'm friendly, but I don't need a built-in best friend. I do need someone who locks the door, gives a heads-up about guests, and can talk about money and chores without making it weird.
If you want to apartment-hunt together instead
If you'd rather find a roommate first and then look for a two-bedroom together, I'm open to that. It can mean a better layout, better light, or a neighborhood that works better for both budgets.
Either way, I want us to agree on budget, sleep schedule, guests, and pets before anyone signs a lease. I'd rather spend an extra week searching than move in with someone whose routine clashes with mine.
Who I'm hoping to find
Someone in their late twenties with a full-time job or a demanding grad program. Non-smoking inside. Pets depend on building rules and allergies.
Mutuals from Harvard, Cambridge research, or Boston healthcare help, but being direct about your schedule matters more than a long friend list.
Rent and timing
Rent for the open room in this apartment is $1,750 a month. Utilities are split evenly. I'm hoping to move someone in around September 1, but I can flex by a week or two if the fit is right.
Message me on TRR and say whether you're interested in this room or a pair-up search. Tell me your work situation and move-in window. I'd like to do a video call before an in-person tour.
