/ Features

Built to do the vetting before you ever swipe.

The Room Ring is a social-graph roommate search with filters for how people actually live together.
Roommate vetting before messaging
Each feature explains what it does, why it matters, and how it reduces roommate-search stress.
Faster, safer first outreach
From profile vetting to first message, TRR keeps context visible so roommate search feels less random and more trusted.
Trust-first matching
We prioritize real identity and social context over anonymous browsing, so members can make better decisions before move-in.
/ Account

Every TRR account is free.

Every TRR account is free — listings, search, messaging, and partner perks included from day one.
How does TRR find matches?

We read your real social network and rank potential roommates by mutual connections—friends, classmates, coworkers—first. Then we layer on lifestyle filters and your search criteria. Strangers go to the bottom.

Is The Room Ring free?

Yes. Listings, search, messaging, and partner perks are free with every TRR account. We make money on partner deals, not on your move.

How is this different from Craigslist or Facebook groups?

Anonymous platforms make it hard to know who you're actually talking to. TRR matches are anchored to real social identities and ranked by who you and the other person already know in common—so you're never starting from zero.

What cities are you in?

New York, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles, and Chicago. We launch markets where our users already are—if you want TRR in your city, get on the waitlist.

Do I have to use my social network to sign up?

Yes—that's the whole point. The Room Ring works because it reads who you and a potential roommate already know in common. We never post on your behalf and we don't share your network with anyone.

Can I list a room without an apartment of my own?

Yes. You can list a room you're already in, post that you're looking for a room, or do a pair-up search if you want to find a roommate before signing a lease.
