Quiet room in Logan Square 2-flat

I'm Devon. I teach for Chicago Public Schools, and the second bedroom in our vintage two-flat just opened up. I'm looking for a roommate who can keep weeknights calm and still enjoy living in Logan Square.

This is a home in a two-flat, not a downtown high-rise. You get hardwood floors, a real back porch, and a four-minute walk to the Logan Square Blue Line.

The apartment

The bedroom is about twelve by twelve, fits a queen and a desk, and gets decent light without baking in the afternoon. You share the main bathroom with me. So far our morning routines have not been a problem because we're both up early on weekdays.

The kitchen is big for a two-flat, with original cabinets and a gas range. The living room fits a couch and a small table. Laundry is in the basement and shared with the unit below.

I keep plants on the kitchen windowsill. You do not need to take care of them, but please do not move them without asking.

My schedule

On school nights I'm usually in bed by 10:30 and up around 6. Weekends are looser: farmers market, a run along the boulevard, brunch with friends. I'm social in a low-key way, not a party-at-home-every-night way.

Who I'm hoping to find

Someone who respects quiet during the school week, gives a heads-up about guests, and does not treat the back porch like a nightly hangout spot. Full-time work or grad school is fine. No smoking inside. Pets are a conversation because of building rules and allergies.

The neighborhood

California Park is two blocks away. Lula Cafe is four. Groceries, hardware, and a few gyms are walkable. Blue Line to the Loop is usually around thirty minutes.

Rent and timing

Rent for the room is $1,100 a month. Utilities are split evenly. I'm looking at a move-in in August or September, with some flexibility on the exact date.
